What if celebrities really were divine beings? That’s the story Mirka Andolfo’s Blasfamous will explore when it launches.

From DSTLRY, the creator-owned comic book and collectible company, comes the new horror-comedy series arriving this December. Written and illustrated by Andolfo, the Harvey Award-winner behind Sweet Paprika, Mercy, Unnatural, Harley Quinn, and Punchline, the new book spins out of the five-page story “A Blessed Day” from DSTLRY’s debut release, The Devil’s Cut.

In a world where pop stars have ascended to divinity and the masses bow in veneration to a new generation of viral superstars, angels and demons revel in a spotlight that grants them unimaginable power. Clelia, the reigning queen of pop, finds her throne shaken by a newcomer radiating with enigmatic charm. As the public eye threatens to wander, Clelia and her demonic agent, Father Lev, are thrust into a battle for dominance on this exhilarating stage of music and mysticism. How far will they go to defend Clelia’s hot streak and unravel the mystery of this sensational threat?

“With each of my series, I love conjuring new fictions of fantasy and wonder wrapped around some of the hottest sociological issues we face in reality,” Andolfo said. “Blasfamous picks apart what it means to worship—whether it’s a prophet or pop star. It’s also a new opportunity to draw some of the most lavish and exhilarating spectacles of my career, with an oversized canvas to make every page truly sing.”

Blasfamous #1 features two open-order covers by Andolfo, with 1:10, 1:25, and 1:50 incentive variant covers to be revealed at a later date. The first issue is available now for pre-order and will go on sale at comic shops and digitally on dstlry.co this December.
