Here’s how Dark Horse describes Hellboy & Th B.P.R.D.: The Secret of Chesbro House #2:

Hellboy is plunged headlong into the dark history of a haunted mansion, witnessing at last the dark truth behind the ghost in residence . . . and how it might be made to leave.

Hellboy creator Mike Mignola teams with longtime collaborator Christopher Golden and artist extraordinaire Shawn McManus to bring you a brand-new frightful delight from the world of Hellboy!

Along with the preview, Golden told The Beat about he and Mignola’s influences for the series:

“There’s always a method to Mike Mignola’s madness. “The Secret of Chesbro House” is a sort of love letter to the movies and novels in this vein where people gather to hold a seance or investigate a haunted house, most especially The Legend of Hell House and The Haunting of Hill House. But it’s also a Hellboy story, and once you insert Hellboy you know you’re going to disrupt the usual way these stories go, so you know that the second issue is going to get really frickin’ weird.”

Check out the exclusive six-page preview of the final issue of the series, as well as a variant cover by Matt Smith, below. Hellboy & The B.P.R.D.: The Secret of Chesbro House #2 arrives in stores on Wednesday, August 11th.
