Since debuting in the classic Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends animated series in the ’80s, Angelica Jones better known by her nom de guerre Firestar has quite a fanbase. While the creators of the cartoon were unable to include Johnny Storm/Human Torch as they originally intended due to rights issues, the series has become a cult classic for Marvelites.
Yet another beloved character introduced in the cartoon was the dog sidekick Ms. Lion who like Firestar was eventually appear in the pages of Marvel comics as a member of the Pet Avengers.
Today, Hasbro announced a Marvel Legends figure that will include a Ms. Lion as an accessory. Unless I’m mistaken, this is the first time Ms. Lion has ever received her own licensed figure.
UPDATED: As The Beat‘s own Joe Grunenwald pointed out, Ms. Lion did in fact have her own figure when she was included in the Mary Jane Hasbro Marvel Universe 3.75″ line.
