It’s another clash of pop culture icons as GODZILLA VS MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS II is coming in April from writer Cullen Bunn and artist Baldemar Rivas, along with colorist Andrew Dalhouse and letterer Johanna Guzman.
It’s the second joint venture from IDW, Boom, and Toho International, following their first clash last year.
In this outing, the notorious Rita Repulsa teams up with new mysterious allies Astronema and the Alliance of Evil, unleashing chaos that includes familiar foes like SpaceGodzilla, Clawhammer, Tentacreep, and more.
Eisner-nominated writer Bunn returns for round two, promising surprises.
“If I was going to pit Godzilla against the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers again, I knew I needed to do something huge,” stated Bunn. “Mayhem alone was not enough! And, believe me, what we’re doing in this new series is something wild and unexpected and game-changing! If you’re a Rangers fan… if you’re a Godzilla fan… if you’re a fan of bonkers fun… buckle up! This series is going to knock you off your feet!”
The debut issue features Cover A by Freddie Williams and Dalhouse, Cover B by Alex Sanchez and Matt Herms, and a RI cover by Hendry Prasetya and Dalhouse – and as befits the subject matter these covers are nice and lurid. See below.
