Writer and musician Gerard Way is returning once again to the world of The Umbrella Academy, which he created with Gabriel Bá back in 2007. This time, though, it’s with an eye on the past of one of the series’ central characters. Announced today via the New York Times, You Look Like Death is a six-issue miniseries focused on The Séance, aka Klaus Hargreeves, aka Number Four, and is set a decade prior to the beginning of the first Umbrella Academy miniseries. The series, which launches in June, will be written by Way and co-writer Shaun Simon, illustrated by I.N.J. Culbard, lettered by Nate Piekos, and feature covers by Bá.

You Look Like Death is the second collaboration between Simon and Way, who previously co-created The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys along with Becky Cloonan back in 2013. Simon has also partnered with Way’s brother, Mikey Way, and artist Ilias Kyriazis for the Young Animal series Collapser. Culbard is a newcomer to the world of the Umbrella Academy; his most recent work for Dark Horse is Everything with writer Christopher Cantwell. The second five-issue volume of that series is set to debut in April. With You Look Like Death #1 slated for release in June, it’s unclear what impact, if any, that will have on Culbard’s work on Everything.
