Animator Tony Cliff makes his debut at First Second this fall with Delilah Dirk and the Turkish Lieutenant, a new GN from First Second, about a globe-trotting adventuring heroine in the picturesque past.
Lovable ne’er-do-well Delilah Dirk is up to her ears in trouble . . . as usual. Our story opens with Delilah, up to her typical mayhem and in jail for plotting to rob a rich and corrupt Sultan in Constantinople. With the aid of her flying boat and her newfound friend, Selim, she evades the Sultan’s guards, deals handily with a number of disgruntled pirates, then dusts herself off and embarks on a new escapade. For Delilah, life is one thrilling adventure after another.
Looks a little Adele Blanc-Sec, a little Flashman.
UPDATED TO ADD: My Heidi sense was tingling and I should have remember that this is actually a webcomic that’s been running for a while. You can read it all free for now but will want to get the permanent paper edition as well. Amazing art!

No link to the awesome Delilah Dirk webcomic on which this graphic novel seems to be adapted from? No mention that Tony Cliff and Delilah Dirk was nominated for an Eisner award this year for best digital comic?
Let me correct that for you: http://www.delilahdirk.com
