The CW’s The Flash is preparing to head into its eighth season later this year, and a tradition on the series has been that Barry Allen (Grant Gustin)’s suit gets an update pretty much every year. This past year it was the iconic cowl wings of The Flash’s suit, and today at DC Fandome Gustin and Candace Patton revealed that, for The Flash Season 8, the fastest man alive will add something fans have been clamoring for: yellow boots!
Along with the announcement DC and The CW unveiled a first look at Gustin in the newly-redesigned suit.
Of all of the suits Gustin has worn as The Flash, the new suit is the closest match to what the scarlet speedster wears in the comics. prior to Season 8 The Flash has worn red boots, occasionally with yellow lightning bolt cuffs.
In the announcement, Gustin expressed his excitement over the addition of the yellow boots, calling them the last, missing piece of The Flash suit that he’s been waiting for for eight years.
The Flash Season 8 debuts on November 16th, 2021, kicking off a five-part “Armageddon” storyline that will see heroes from across the Arrowverse including Black Lightning (Cress Williams), Batwoman (Javicia Leslie), The Atom (Brandon Routh), Green Arrow (Katherine McNamara), and Sentinel (Chyler Leigh) team with the Fastest Man Alive.
