The Four Kingdoms—Hearts, Clubs, Diamonds, and Spades—have been at war for centuries. The Four of a Kind, an order of holy wise men, have been tasked with keeping the peace, but it looks like whatever peace was achieved is being taken over by war once more. So begins The Saga of the Jack of Spades.
Written by Chase Kantor, illustrated by Daniel Schneider, and published by Renegade Arts Entertainment, the 144-page original graphic novel centers on Jack, the young Prince of Spades next in line to inherit the throne, and the pressure is on since his father, the Spade King, is in poor health. He must prove to the royal court and himself that he is worthy of the crown, but with the King’s conniving advisor, the Ace of Spades, involved, things are much more complicated—and deadly.
For fans of adventure, fantasy, court intrigue, and swashbuckling battles, The Saga of the Jack of Spades is a top choice. The book also offers humor and fun alongside an interesting take on the history of a card deck’s four suits.
The Saga of the Jack of Spades is set to release this week digitally. Fans can also look for copies of the graphic novel at comic shops on October 16. For more info and to order, head over to the publisher’s website.
