Becoming Who We Are

Here are the details on Becoming Who We Are from the publisher:

“Becoming who you are is a journey, and all journeys start somewhere.

“In a collection of stories from across the spectrum of real-life experience, nine members of the trans community share their inspirational childhood stories. These are tales of questioning, affirming, transitioning, and growing up; courageous, gripping accounts from musicians, actors, teachers, scientists, forest rangers, and activists of how they overcame their unique challenges to become who they truly are.

And here are more details on the anthology from the Kickstarter page:

Becoming Who We Are is a 144-page Middle Grade-appropriate comics anthology featuring the real-life stories of 9 members of the trans community as they share their very relatable experiences of growing up, overcoming challenges, and discovering who they really are.

“Co-edited by Sammy Lisel and cartoonist Hazel Newlevant (No Ivy League, Comics for Choice), the anthology is intended to show gender-diverse kids that they’re not alone, and give all readers a chance to relate to the stories of an amazing group of trans people!

“The anthology is set to have a world-wide release in May of 2024 as a softcover. As part of our effort to pay the very talented artists of these stories for their immense amount of work, we’ve launched this preorder campaign. Kickstarter backers will get their digital and softcover books before the official release date. Perhaps the most excitingly, we’re offering a Hardcover Edition exclusively available through this Kickstarter campaign!”
