IDW Publishing has announced the next chapter of Godzilla’s Monsterpiece Theatre Presents, and The Beat has all the details. Debuting in August, the Roar of the Worlds #1 one-shot will continue this fantastically bizarre series of literary mashups with a main story by Kyle Baker and part three of Tom Scioli’s “Robin Hood and the Monster of Nottingham.”

In this oversize one-shot, comic book legend Kyle Baker joins the fun to help Godzilla defend the planet against invaders from Mars! The War of the Worlds regaled readers with the story of what happened in England when faraway invaders arrived. This comic asks a much more important question…what was going on in Japan? The answer: Martians were getting smashed left and right by the King of the Monsters!
Godzilla’s Monsterpiece Theatre Presents: Roar of the Worlds #1 will boast cover art by Scioli, Baker, Flops!, and Nicole Goux.
Roar of the Worlds will be available digitally and at your local comic shop on August 12. Pre-orders are due by July 6.
In the interim, Romeo & Juliet & Godzilla by Adam Tierney and Sean Peacock is available now. Godzilla’s The Odyssey by Frank Tieri and Ilias Kyriazis will be available June 10.
