Happy Friday, readers! As promised we’re here with your exclusive look inside the pages of Cutting Edge from Statix Press. We’ve already shown you two covers, and met two of the five figures who make up the main cast of the series from Italian fantasist Francesco Dimitri and Marvel/DC artist Mario Alberti. Before we give you peek at the introduction page for our next character, here’s how Statix describes the series:

Think of Leonardo da Vinci. Think of Shakespeare. They are on the threshold between history and myth: some of them are real, some are fictional, they are all outstanding. They are the cutting edge of humanity. In every age there are people that push human boundaries to their utmost limits. They are scientist, athletes, lovers, artists, conmen. What happens when these individuals are teamed up together? A financial enterprise, the Leviathan Corporation, challenges a number of geniuses from around the world. There will be a massive, secret competition, with real dangers. Only the Cutting Edge can participate and only the winner will find out why the competition exists.

The potential winners of the mysterious contest we’ve met so far are Hiroshi Itou: a genius mathematician, respected academic, and Nobel Prize-winner, and Delroy: a secretive, seductive and deadly professional skilled in the art of combat. In today’s Cutting Edge preview, we’ll meet the first of the two women participating in the contest: Stella Orsini Del Giglio, the last heiress to a family wealthier than many countries.

Wealthy, lovely, and with a powerful family legacy to support her, Stella still fell victim to a scandal that none of her extensive privilege could protect her from: a video of her that’s gone viral. No clues as to the nature of the video, but according to Statix Press, this is a weakness for Ms. Del Giglio. Will she manage to turn that misfortune to her advantage, like the Kardashians and Hiltons before her? Or will it be the reason she falls behind her four other competitors?

We’ll continue our day-by-day reveal of the covers and interior character pages in our Cutting Edge preview next week. On Monday, we’ll meet the other woman competing to win a stake in the powerful Leviathan Corporation and the answer to the mystery that surrounds the contest itself. Until then, we’ve got the third cover for issue one: a black and white variant of the cover by Butch Guice. There are two more character reveals left before we exclusively premiere the trailer for Cutting Edge on Wednesday, February 19.
