As we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15 – Oct. 15) this panel will look at how Hispanic and Latino/a/x comic creators are sharing their voices language and culture with the world through comics. The conversation will touch on the growing fandom for Spanish-language comics internationally the challenges Hispanic creators face and how Hispanic and Latino/a/x creators are establishing themselves as some of the most exciting voices in global storytelling.

This panel of experts will explore the mechanics of the monstrous the technologies of terror and how various cultures give shape to the devils that plague every society on the planet. So beyond the run of the mill vampire werewolf or bogeyman how does the sociopolitical climate create monsters? How do various cultures utilize the monster and how do they manifest themselves in the pages of modern comics?
