Dark Horse Comics has released full solicitations text and images for titles scheduled to ship in April 2020. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Colonel Weird: Cosmagog, the next Black Hammer miniseries from Jeff Lemire, teams Lemire with artist Tyler Crook for a story focusing on one of the Black Hammer U’s strangest, most fun characters
  • Christopher Cantwell and I.N.J. Culbard‘s Everything returns for a second volume; we interviewed Cantwell about the new series last week.
  • Creator Tyler Boss‘s mystery miniseries, Dead Dog’s Bite, debuts. The name of the missing person in the series is “Cormac Guffin,” so you know this is going to be fun.
  • On the heels of last year’s adaptation of William Gibson‘s unused Alien3 screenplay, Dark Horse returns to that well with Alien: The Original Screenplay, a five-issue series adapting Dan O’Bannon‘s original screenplay for the classic film. The series is written by Cristiano Seixas and illustrated by Guilherme Balbi, Candice Han, and Dave Stewart, with variant covers by the legendary Walt Simonson.
  • Current miniseries The Butcher of Paris concludes in April. Writer Stephanie Phillips and artists Dean Kotz and Jason Wordie have crafted a fascinating true crime series that’s worth checking out.
  • On the graphic novel front, writer Paul Levitz and artists Simon Fraser and Cary Caldwell team for Unfinished Business, a mystery OGN starring the ghosts of three holy men who are trying to get into Heaven.
  • Dark Horse’s line of Disney “Story of the Movie in Comics” books expands with three new offerings, for Moana, a combination book of Finding Nemo and Finding Dory, and a Mulan adaptation. The latter credits the creative team solely as “Disney,” so I guess corporations really are people, too.

All that and more in the full April solicitations for Dark Horse Comics. Check out the full text and images below, and look for these items in stores later this year.

A priest, a minister and a rabbi walk into a bar . . . except they’re all dead. Not a zombie apocalypse (sorry, Walking Dead fans), but a bit of Unfinished Business that heaven needs the departed clerics to address, if they can. But what awaits them if they succeed—life, afterlife, or oblivion?

A tantalizing original graphic-novel mystery from Eisner Award-winner and Eisner Award Hall of Fame inductee Paul Levitz (Legion of Super-Heroes) and Simon Fraser (Kingsman: The Red Diamond, Doctor Who).
• Paul Levitz is a comics industry legend as both an acclaimed writer and as a longtime editor, executive, and publisher at DC Comics.
• Simon Fraser’s work is known for his long-running stints on Nikolai Dante and Judge Dredd in 2000 AD magazine.
