Dynamite has announced Dynamite Books, a new imprint that will publish prose novels featuring new stories and starring some of the company’s top characters.
To kick off the imprint, Bram Stoker Award-winning author Nancy A. Collins will return to Vampirella as part of the character’s 50th anniversary celebration. The novel entitled Vampirella: Blood Invasion is currently available in print, e-book, and audiobook.
The line is set to include new audiobooks for previously published novels, beginning with the original Shaft novel by Ernest Tidyman. In January, the SEAL Team Six No More series hits, and future novels on the list will include more Vampi as well as Purgatori from the Chaos! canon. The publisher’s goal is to release at least one new novel each month.
Vampirella: Blood Invasion centers on Vampirella’s leaving her home planet of Drakulon to find another source of blood for her people. The book features a cover by artist Jenny Frison, and the audiobook is narrated by actress Kirstin Wall (Bad Sass).
Collins said in a statement, “It’s nice returning to Vampi. The book is my own take on the 1950s invaders from outer space trope. To paraphrase Mark Twain: ‘Those reading this book and expecting hard science fiction shall be shot with a ray gun.’”
As for Shaft: The Original Novel, Dynamite returned it to print in 2016. Now actor Will Dixon (Secret Santa) stars in the audio book.

Vampirella: Blood Invasion and Shaft: The Original Novel are now available in print, e-book, and audiobook through Amazon, Kindle, and Audible.
