Greetings fellow humans! The Dragon Prince art book is officially here, thanks to a collaboration between Wonderstorm and Dark Horse. Titled The Art of The Dragon Prince, the book will conjure together all the goodies we’ve come to expect from others of its kind. According to the official press release, it includes “never-before-seen concept sketches, preliminary designs, and first impressions from the first three seasons of the animated Netflix series expand over nearly 200 pages of content, from storyboards and environments to the characters and creatures that fans across the world have come to love.”

Though the show only premiered last September, The Dragon Prince has snowballed a huge, loyal fan base and managed to premiere two seasons on Netflix. The show is set in a fantasy world where humans, though content, are at odds with elves and their dragon king. History and xenophobia divides the two races – but that changes when two young princes meet their father’s would-be assassin. It’s a series that’s as inventive as it is heartwarming – and that’s no surprise considering who the creators are. The show is co-created by Aaron Ehasz, who wrote frequently and eloquently for Avatar: the Last Airbender and Justin Richmond, who formerly directed the Naughty Dog video game Uncharted 3.

In the press release, Richmond adds, “Aaron and I are excited to announce Wonderstorm’s partnership with Dark Horse. As a longtime fan, I have wanted to work with Dark Horse for years, and I can’t think of a better partner to help us bring the world of The Dragon Prince to life in new ways that our fans are going to love. I can’t wait for people to see what we are working on together!”

The Dragon Prince art book hits shelves and homes on July 7 of 2020 in a gorgeous hardcover edition, available for your perusal below. Oh, and pre-orders are up right now for $39.99. But, if you can’t wait for your behind the scenes look, feel free to check our interview with the team here.
