Ubisoft just announced a movie based on its Tom Clancy franchise The Division coming to Netflix. The star power for this movie is impressive. It borders on perplexing considering the subject material. Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Chastain are set to star in the film about warfare that breaks out after a viral pandemic. The Division 2 sold great and released to rave reviews earlier this year, but it’s notorious for its total lack of depth.
We’ll see if the Division Netflix movie fares any better than Prince of Persia, another Jake Gyllenhaal film based on a Ubisoft franchise. For his sake, I hope so.
