Big news for Winter Soldier and Falcon fans: Disney is apparently in talks with Empire writer and co-executive producer Malcolm Spellman to produce a limited series starring the two superheroes for their new streaming service, per an exclusive report from Variety. The outlet previously reported that Disney and Marvel are prepping multiple series starring Marvel Cinematic Universe characters who’ve yet to star in their own solo films.

That description certainly fits Falcon and the Winter Soldier, whose buddy-cop-esque routine in Captain America: Civil War was one of the lightest elements of the film. Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan most recently appeared as Falcon and Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, respectively, in Avengers: Infinity War. They are both slated to return in the as-of-yet untitled Avengers 4, which is set to hit theaters sometime in 2019.

Per Variety, Marvel shows on the new Disney streaming service will be produced by Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige, who has headed the MCU for years. They are expected to have large budgets.

Current Marvel shows on Netflix are headed by Jeph Loeb; Netflix recently announced the cancelation of both Luke Cage and Iron Fist and there’s been no news about whether Jessica Jones or Daredevil will be renewed for new seasons. Loeb told Entertainment Weekly in September that there are no current plans to renew Defenders, but it isn’t “off the table.” Meanwhile, The Punisher season two has yet to see a release date.

Neither Disney nor Marvel provided Variety with a statement regarding the potential Falcon-Winter Soldier series, though fans are already lighting up social media about the news.

  1. More clues about what happens in Avengers 4, then…

They’ll want to bring the production values if they’re busting down these MCU characters to the small screen. Probably counting on that to lure viewers to their streaming
