Diamond Comics Distributors is upgrading its long-tenured comicshoplocator.com site with new mobile-friendly upgrades designed to make it easier to use with modern technologies.

The main goal of the site has remained the same since 1996: help people find and patronize comic book specialty retailers. In addition to mobile responsiveness, the new site will also have easier to use search functionality, a comic store event calendar, an area to spotlight certain stores, and info on any given week’s new releases.

In a press release announcing the enhancements, Diamond Comics notes the site was first launched back in 1996 and has exceeded more than 6 million users, presumably all searching for comicbook retailers throughout North America and worldwide. The site is maintained and funded by Diamond and retailers. Retailers can get their shops listed on the resource by contacting Diamond. Once listed, retailers can customize profiles and also get access to monthly stats on their referrals.
