Dark Horse has released new details about the special edition of The Art of Star Wars Rebels, the upcoming book that showcases the art behind the animated Star Wars series.

The Art of Star Wars Rebels
Star Wars Rebels: The Art of the Animated Series by Dan Wallace

Star Wars Rebels is set shortly before A New Hope and follows the crew of the Ghost as they begin to organize their efforts to strike back against the Galactic Empire. The series offers a glimpse of the nascent efforts of the Rebellion that was the focus of the original Star Wars trilogy through the perspective of Hera Syndulla, Kanan Jarrus, Ezra Bridger, Sabine Wren, Garazeb “Zeb” Orrelios, and the surly astromech droid, C1-10P, better known as “Chopper.”

The book features concept art from the development of the popular series as well as commentary from key members of the creative team, including Dave FiloniCarrie BeckSimon Kinberg, and other members of the Star Wars Rebels team at Lucasfilm Animation.

The special edition with exclusive cover, folio, and slipcase featuring light and sound effects.

Just like Dark Horse’s art book for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, the Star Wars Rebels art book will be available in both a standard and special edition. The special edition will feature a slipcase that includes both light and sound effects: opening the case will be accompanied by the familiar sound and glow of a lightsaber being ignited. The special edition, which has a suggested retail price of $99.99, also comes with a special variation on the book’s cover and a foilo featuring art exclusive to this edition.

Both the special edition and the standard edition, which comes with a suggested price of $39.99, will be available on March 17, 2020, but you can preorder either edition of the book today by placing an order at your local comic book store.
