Hard to believe it’s been over three years since it was officially announced that Charlie Cox would be returning to the role of Matt Murdock better known as Daredevil in a new Disney+ original that not only incorporated the Marvel Netflix shows into the Marvel Cinematic Universe but remained true to adult and gritty tone of the series. The wait is almost over as today the first Daredevil: Born Again trailer was released.

In addition to Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio reprises his role as Wilson Fisk who is now mayor of New York City. Other familiar favorite actors include Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Hensen as Foggy Nelson, and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher, Wilson Bethel as Benjamin Poindexter (basically Bullseye), Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk.

Other cast members include Margarita Levieva as Heather Glenn, Zabryna Guevara as Sheila Rivera, Nikki M. James as Kirsten McDuffie; as well as Genneya Walton, Arty Froushan, Clark Johnson, and Michael Gandolfini.

Likewise, the Daredevil: Born Again trailer gives us our first glimpse at the villain Muse as well as the character Hector Ayala / White Tiger portrayed by Kamar de los Reyes.

Serving as showrunner is Dario Scardapane. Episode directors include Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead, Michael Cuesta, Jeffrey Nachmanoff, and David Boyd; and executive producers are Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Sana Amanat, Chris Gary, Dario Scardapane, Matt Corman & Chris Ord, and Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead.

Official description:

In Daredevil: Born Again, Murdock, a blind lawyer with heightened abilities, is fighting for justice through his bustling law firm, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) pursues his own political endeavors in New York. When their past identities begin to emerge, both men find themselves on an inevitable collision course.

It goes without saying this Daredevil: Born Again series has encountered a number of hurdles since it was first announced nearly three years ago, which seems to be par for the course for Marvel Studios post-Endgame. Among the setbacks was letting go head writers Chris Ord and Matt Corman as well as directors supposedly due to dissatisfaction that the series was steering away from the direction of the original Netflix series. Moreover, the Marvel Studios wasn’t happy that the titular character didn’t appear in costume until the fourth episode.
