In the season two finale of Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger, Tandy (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone (Aubrey Omari Joseph) left New Orleans for a mysterious location, and now we know they’ll be heading to an exciting crossover with Marvel’s Runaways. This morning an announcement video featuring both show’s cast confirmed that at some point during Runaways season three, the teens of both shows will meet for a heroic team-up.
Head of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb expressed excitement in a statement featured on Marvel.com: “It’s so fun being able to do something that revels in the Mighty Marvel Manner,” he said. “Having these young heroes crossover allows fans of both shows to see the adventure everyone has been waiting for and we’ve only hinted at.”
Fans of Freeform’s Cloak and Dagger speculated that Tandy and Tyrone could be heading to the Runaways’ home base of LA. The final episode of the show’s second season hinted at this with Tyrone and Tandy deciding to follow an out of city lead relating to dead girls washing up on a beach – which perfectly fits the M-O of the Runaways’ villainous parents known as Pride.
In the most recent teaser for Runaways season three, things looked as grim as ever for Nico (Lyrica Okano), Gert (Ariela Barer), Chase (Gregg Sulkin), Alex (Rhenzy Feliz), Karolina (Virginia Gardner), Molly (Allegra Acosta), and Old Lace, and it looks like they’ll need the super-powered back-up Cloak and Dagger can provide.
