Oh, you thought Smallville‘s Tom Welling returning as Superman for The CW’s upcoming Crisis on Infinite Earths Arrowverse crossover was the end of the crazy casting news? Guess again, friends. TVLine reports that Ashley Scott, one of the stars of The WB’s short-lived Birds of Prey TV series, will reprise the role of Huntress for Crisis.

On the heels of the success of SmallvilleBirds of Prey premiered on The WB in 2002. Set in a Gotham City of the future, the show centered on Scott’s Helena Wayne, the daughter of Batman and Catwoman, and her partnership with Barbara Gordon, aka Oracle, played by Dina Meyer. The pair picked up a third partner, Dinah Lance, played by Rachel Skarsten, and faced off against an assortment of villains, including a pre-Harley Quinn Dr. Quinzel (Mia Sara). The series struggled in the ratings, and was brought to a conclusion after thirteen episodes.

Ashley Scott returning for Crisis seems to indicate that truly nothing is off-limits for an event that already includes the aforementioned Welling, Erica Durance returning as Lois Lane, and Brandon Routh appearing as a Superman sporting the Kingdom Come chest emblem. With Skarsten set as a series regular on Batwoman as the villain Alice, it seems like a safe bet she’ll also reprise her Birds of Prey role for Crisis as well. Who’s next, Gerard ChristopherJohn Haymes NewtonBoth?

The five-part Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event will begin on The CW on December 8th.

  1. I would love for Gerard and John to reprise their Superboy roles! Along with Stacy Haiduk as Lana Lang. Poor Superboy, a fun show that became the black sheep of the DCU thanks to Warner Bros and copyright wars. They’d be Superman by now, and 50-60 years old. lol
