Much like Warner Bros is spreading the DC Universe on a number of different networks, Disney and Marvel Television look to be doing the same with some of their characters on the fringe. Today, Freeform (formerly known as ABC Family) has announced a greenlight for a Cloak and Dagger series per Variety.
Given the romantic subject matter, Bill Mantlo and Ed Hannigan’s Marvel series makes for a great fit for the renamed network that’s recently had a few critical hits like Greek and more specifically, Bunheads.
There’s no writer attached as of yet, but Marvel Studios and ABC Signature Studios are co-producing and are actively seeking a showrunner.
Cloak and Dagger will join Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the yet to be renewed (and may not be) Agent Carter, Marvel’s Most Wanted, and the entire Netflix Defenders roster in the Marvel live-action televised line-up.
