The CCS BIPOC Cartoonist Fund
According to information from the Center for Cartoon Studies, “The CCS BIPOC Cartoonist Fund is designed to both further the diversity of comics production and bring creative voices from the margins towards the center by providing funding to cartoonists who are Black, Indigenous and/or People of Color.”
Included among the issues at auction is The Incredible Hulk #181 by Len Wein, Herb Trimpe, Jack Abel, Glynis Wein, and Artie Simek. Released in 1974, this issue marks the first appearance of Wolverine.
There are also six additional Marvel Comics issues up for auction, including Luke Cage, Hero for Hire (1972) #1 by Archie Goodwin, George Tuska, Billy Graham, and Skip Kohloff (with creative contributions by Roy Thomas and John Romita), Marvel Spotlight (1977) #32 by Goodwin, Sal Buscema, Jim Mooney, Irv Watanabe, and Janice Cohen (the first appearance of Spider-Woman), and the 1947 pamphlet Secrets Behind the Comics by Stan Lee.
