Salt Lake CIty Con expects 100,000 this weekend
Last fall's very first Salt Lake City Con drew what is claimed to be 80,000 people, although when I first reported on it it was 50,000 tickets sold,—and the fire marshals came outin force. With that kind of smash, they are holding another one already, nicknamed FanX. And this time they are expecting an even huger crowd. :
Fox and Sony cross-over in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 secret scene — SPOILERS
It seems that Fox—which controls the X-men and Fantastic Four film franchises— and Sony—which controls Spider-Man—have come to an agreement to create their OWN variant earth-2 Marvel Cinematic Universe, starting with a cut scene at the end of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2. Boom! reveals BEE & PUPPYCAT variant covers
Natasha Allegri's BEE & PUPPYCAT cartoon is Cartoon Hangover's latest attempt at world domination -- and a highly successful attempt it has been. A Kickstart to make a full season of internet shorts raised more than $800,000, and the series has joined the cartoon mafia over at Boom Studios with a comic coming out next month. Allegri will co write with Garrett Jackson and covers illustrated by Allegri, Zac Gorman (ADVENTURE TIME), Coleman Engle (BRAVEST WARRIORS), and Becky Dreistadt (ADVENTURE TIME).

The Dynamite Pre-vinterview: Frank Barbiere on Solar: Man of the Atom
There's been a lot of buzz about writer Frank (Five Ghosts) Barbiere of late. As in literally. I keep hearing "Frank Barbiere this" and "Frank Barbiere that." All good. Likewise, Dynamite's Gold Key revival has been a surprise hit thus far, with some sturdy characters getting a fresh update. So Barbiere's take on Solar: Man of the Atom along with artist Joe Bennett definitely qualifies as a buzz book.
The first issue of the book is out today, and Dynamite provided this preview and interview with Barbiere.
