SDCC 2012: Top Cow's Digital Adventures (Kickstarter and Thrillbent)
Top Cow's talking about their digital plans again. This has all been announced prior to Comicon, but I haven't really commented on it yet and now's as good a time as any. The two major pieces are a Kickstarter campaign to relaunch Cyber Force and moving Pilot Season over to Mark Waid's Thrillbent site.

Kurtis Wiebe has revealed that he will be turning his Image series into a motion comic, with an eye to then getting picked up by the BBC for a full television run.

Chew's Secret Agent Poyo — PETA Might Not Approve
Debuting this week, concurrent with Comicon, is the Secret Agent Poyo special from Image. Poyo is a rooster. A fighting rooster. The deadliest fighting rooster in the world. So yes, this comic has it's roots in cockfighting, but Poyo will basically kill anything that moves. Yes, Poyo is an angry bird. Poyo first turned up in Chew a couple years back and was an instant hit. This is the character's close up and it almost defies description.
Kirkman, Millar, and Niles gab about the creator-owned world
CBR has a nice roundtable on creator-owned comics that rounds up Robert Kirkman, Mark Millar, and Steve Niles. Since they are all "strongly for" the piece doesn't really ignite any banter, but it does allow many long, entertaining manifestos. For instance, how Millar terrorized Alan Moore when he was a teen.
Sablik joins BOOM! as VP of Publishing and Marketing

Sablik ankles Top Cow for parts unknown–CORRECTED
Top Cow publisher Filip Sablik has told friends that Friday will be his last day at Top Cow, where he was publisher for the last 4 years of a 6 month stint. But fear not, Sablik has a NEW job at a comics publisher which he'll be announcing at Comic-Con.
Jessi Reid, Top Cow's Social Marketing Coordinator, will be taking over Sablik's duties at Top Cow.
Image debuts new booth art at San Diego Comic-Con
Even comics news is coming out in advance of Comic-Con—in this case, new HEROIC SCALED booth art for Image (#2729).
As past con-goers may be aware, Image's booth is anchored by a huge 16' x 32' "Wall of Art" which now features more of the new mega-creator themed stuff like SAGA, MIND THE GAP, AMERICA'S GOT POWERS, and something called THE WALKING DEAD.
