Planet of the Apes has been 50 years.  Well, the cinematic version has.  The original Pierre Boulle novel is a bit older and dates back to 1963 in the original French edition.  But to celebrate the cinematic version’s anniversary, BOOM! is releasing two new Planet of the Apes Specials.

In October, Planet of the Apes: The Time of Man #1 will highlight the beast called man in stories set in both the original film continuity and the new series.

In December, Planet of the Apes: The Simian Age #1 will focus on the stories about the apes.  Including “the untold story of the Ape living inside the remains of the Statue of Liberty.”  (Now there’s a hook!)
