Somewhere in the world it’s Friday afternoon, and someone somewhere may be counting the minutes to a happy hour brew. To get you in the mood, here are some exclusive photos of a recent event featuring Brian Azzarello, Simon Bisley, brewer Nick Floyd, 3 Floyds Beer and the new Image comic Alpha King, whose creation Azz himself admits may have been a bit beer fueled. The comic itself is inspired by characters created by 3 Floyds, and in an amazing act of cross branding genius, the famed craft brewer has released an exclusive Alpha King beer to go along with the comic.

The occasion of the photos was a signing for ALPHA KING of the book at the Dark Lord Day Festival on the 3 Floyds Brewery grounds in Munster, Indiana. Bisley, Azz and Floyd signed and perhaps enjoyed a brew or two. While in the US, Biz, as he’s known to friends, also painted a mural at the one of the 3 Floyds offices (seen below) in honor of the comic and the brew.
ALPHA KING the comic is billed as a “heavy metal mash up” of barbarians, beer and zombies. The story features Brewer and CiCi, two home brewers whose potent potable catches the fancy of an evil dark lord.
