Archie Comics has released details on their planned release schedule for May & June 2020. The publisher will be releasing only a handful of single-issue comics over the six-week period, all of which have already seen release digitally during the temporary Diamond shutdown. Archie’s digest and graphic novel schedules have both continued unabated thanks to distribution via the bookstore market.

Here’s the full list of titles releasing in May & June:

Archie Jumbo Comics Digest #309 (FEB201519)

Sabrina: Something Wicked #1, Cosmo the Mighty Martian #5, Vampironica: New Blood #4, and Archie & Friends: Geeks & Games are the four single-issues which have already seen release digitally. Shortly after the Diamond shutdown, Archie announced that, due to store-exclusive variants and subscribers already having been shipped their copies, three of those those titles were too far along in the physical production schedule to hold altogether, hence the decision to make them available digitally on their original release dates (4/1 for Sabrina and Cosmo and 4/15 for Vampironica). Archie & Friends: Geeks & Games was released digitally on 4/29 along with Sabrina: Something Wicked #2, though while information was shared by the publisher on why they were releasing the latter title, no information was provided by the publisher on why the former was also made available.

It’s comforting (for me, anyway) to think that in the next month or so at least some things in life will be back to some semblance of normal. Here’s looking forward to seeing new Archie comics (not to mention comics from DC, Marvel, and everyone else) back on store shelves by the end of May.

  1. Archie & Friends: Geeks & Games was probably released digitally, because it’s just a reprint title of new stories that had already appeared in recent digests.
