If you’re a Marvel fan who’s into collecting vinyl records, we have big news for you. On Monday, Marvel announced that Mondo Music will release special vinyl editions of every soundtrack from the Marvel Cinematic Universe as part of the partnership between Marvel Music and Hollywood Records. First to be released is the Ant-Man & The Wasp soundtrack, which features some truly gorgeous packaging and a two-disc, red and yellow vinyl set.
“Over the last 10 years, Marvel Studios has assembled such an incredible array of composers to craft new music for their ever-expanding universe of characters… some who have already had classic themes in past incarnations, and some who never had a presence on the big screen,” said Mondo Music record label manager Mo Shafeek in a statement. “The roster is outrageous on paper: everyone from Alan Silvestri and Michael Giacchino, to Mark Mothersbaugh and Ludwig Goransson, to, most recently, Pinar Toprak who did amazing work on Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel.”
Shafeek continued, “We are honored to start our MCU soundtrack series with Ant-Man & The Wasp (one of our favorite Super Hero themes of the last few years for us was Christophe Beck’s earworm theme for Ant-Man) and cannot wait to see what comes next!”
The Ant-Man & The Wasp vinyl will feature collectible artwork by Phantom City Creative, in addition to 14 previously unreleased bonus tracks. The album goes on sale at MondoTees.com on Wednesday, April 24; it will retail at $35.
Next on the roster? The Black Panther soundtrack curated by Kendrick Lamar and the Thor: Ragnarok soundtrack scored by Mark Mothersbaugh. In the meantime, check out the full track list and artwork for the Ant-Man & The Wasp vinyl below.
