As a result of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Anaheim Star Wars Celebration has been rescheduled from this year to August 18th through 21st, 2022. However, the Anaheim Star Wars Celebration will still be taking place at the same location, the Anaheim Convention Center.
In an announcement on its website, the Star Wars Celebration explained that the consequences of COVID-19 made the convention impossible this year.
Fans who have already purchased a ticket for the cancelled 2020 Star Wars Celebration have several options: they can receive a refund, transfer the value of their ticket to Star Wars Celebration 2020 merchandise (which will made available online in the coming months), or transfer the value of their ticket for admission to the 2022 Anaheim Star Wars Celebration.
The period for requesting a merchandise credit or ticket refund runs from June 22nd, 2020 through August 26th, 2020, so those who have purchased tickets to the cancelled 2020 Anaheim Star Wars Celebration should make their decisions and mark their calendars. Additional information about ticket refunds or exchanges is available on the Star Wars Celebration website.
There is an extra incentive for those who choose to transfer their 2020 Star Wars Celebration tickets to 2022 Star Wars Celebration admission: an exclusive Imperial Stormtrooper character pin, which will only be offered to those who transfer their Star Wars Celebration tickets from 2020 to 2022.
While it may seem like a long, long time to wait, the 2022 Star Wars Celebration will still be held at the Anaheim Convention Center, across the street from Disneyland – so the delay will give convention visitors the opportunity to plan a trip to Galaxy’s Edge alongside Star Wars Celebration 2022. Now that’s podracing!
