Quickly following its reveal, Star Wars has officially announced its first slate of authors in its upcoming anthology, Star Wars: From a Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back. Readers of The Beat will recognize at least a few names, including Austin Walker (WWE: The New Day) and Michael Moreci (Wasted Space). The book itself is a celebration of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Backs 40th anniversary, bringing together 40 authors for 40 short stories, and taking a fresh look at the sequel through its background characters. It’s also a follow-up to the original, which established the same structure to mark A New Hope’s 40th and featured writers like Nnedi Okorafor, Kelly Sue DeConnick, Matt Fraction, and Griffin McElroy.

The announcement reveals 40 writers, with a handful of brief story introductions, but also seems to note that more are yet to come, writing: “Today, StarWars.com is thrilled to reveal the confirmed (so far) author lineup.”

Austin Walker explores the unlikely partnership of bounty hunters Dengar and IG-88 as they pursue Han Solo.
