Marvel’s next event, Absolute Carnage, is coming in August, and anticipation for the symbiote-centric crossover is mounting. The story was teased in one of the publisher’s Free Comic Book Day offerings, and now a preview of the first five pages of the event’s debut issue has been released. Series artist Ryan Stegman shared the pages on Twitter this morning:

Absolute Carnage is written by Donny Cates, with art by Stegman, JP Mayer, and Frank Martin, and letters by VC’s Clayton Cowles. The creative team is also behind the monthly Venom series, out of which which the event spins. The story sees a resurrected Cletus Kasady, now wearing the damaged symbiote god Knull, hunting down and killing everyone else who has ever worn a symbiote in order to retrieve the many fragments of a codex that can be used to return Knull to full power. The FCBD teaser had Kasady framing Venom host Eddie Brock for murder, which appears to be where the event itself picks up.
