In the ten years since its launch, the ABRAMS ComicArts imprint has contributed a hefty list of titles to the graphic novel cannon. This list includes two Harvey and six Eisner Award winners, six New York Times Bestsellers, and 18 starred reviews.
To honor the ABRAMS ComicArts’ impressive achievements, the Society of Illustrators will host a 10th anniversary celebration on April 23, 2019. The party will include a reception and panel discussion.
Plus ABRAMS ComicArts editorial director Charles Kochman will curate an exhibit of artwork from 100 graphic novels and art books. Some of the artists showcased include Derf Backdorf (My Friend Dahmer), Thi Bui (The Best We Could Do), Robert Crumb (Underground Classics), John Jennings (Kindred), Brian Fies (A Fire Story), and Harvey Kurtzman (The Art of Harvey Kurtzman).

ABRAMS ComicArts include titles from John Jennings and Thi Bui.

And Derf Backdorf will join Kochman and his team at the panel discussion to talk the imprint’s history and its plans for the next ten years. This is an exciting time for a company that has made strides in promoting the graphic novel.
The ABRAMS ComicArts tenth anniversary event is free and open to the public.
