Mental health is finally getting a little bit of the attention it should have gotten for generations, and in Don’t Read This, another perspective on anxiety and more is illustrated in a subtle yet poignant way.

Created by I Drink Mercury, the Webtoon series is more imagery and emotion than story. But the effect is strong.

There is no story to read here. This series contains themes regarding mental health and anxiety that may not be suitable for all readers. Viewer discretion is advised. If you or someone you know is struggling or in crisis, please reach out for help at Crisis Text Line (http://crisistextline.org/).

As someone who has dealt with anxiety and OCD for decades, it is refreshing to feel the stigma of mental health slowly melting away. In a comic such as this, the minimal imagery and stark contrast of so much darkness again a tiny bit of light is an excellent way to portray how being stuck in your own head can feel.
