Titan Comics announced today a partnership which will see them publish comics based on the award-winning Square Enix game series Life is Strange. Begining with a four part mini-series in 2018  Comics’ LIFE IS STRANGE returns readers to the setting of Arcadia Bay, offering fans the opportunity to dive back into the story of its beloved characters.

While no creative team was announced, Titan did send an image of Blackwell Academy which is one of game’s key locations.

For those who never played the game, the original Life is Strange game released episodically in 2015. It told the story of Max Caufield, a young girl returning to school in her Oregon hometown of Arcadia Bay. One fateful day, in order to stop someone from shooting one of the kids in a bathroom Max discovers she has the ability to bend time. Her newfound powers were just the beginning of an impactful mystery in gaming that touched on themes such as loss, friendship, and dealing with bullying. It all crescendos in a choice players are forced to make between the life of a best friend you abandoned once or the lives of everyone in Arcadia Bay.

The world created by game developer Don’t Nod is extensive with good characters that could be touched on by the comics should Titan not tell a story about main characters Max Caufield and Chloe Price. All that’s known about the upcoming comic book series is that it will go back to Arcadia Bay as 2017’s Life is Strange: Before The Storm prequel game did but no definite details on time or story have been revealed. We could get more info from Titan next week during C2E2.

Personally, I’ve never wanted a David Mack cover on a comic as much as I do for Life is Strange, here’s hoping.

If you haven’t played Life is Strange, episode one is free to download on most platforms through the game’s website.
