Yesterday saw the release of X-Men/Fantastic Four #1, a crossover between the two teams over the future of Omega Level mutant Franklin Richards. Written by Chip Zdarsky and featuring art by Terry Dodson, Rachel Dodson, and Laura Martin, the issue was a thrilling start to the story, which is sure to have huge repercussions for both teams. Now Marvel has announced they’re commemorating the event by releasing a digital director’s cut edition of the first issue.
The X-Men/Fantastic Four #1 Director’s Cut will include exclusive extra material, from the issue’s full script to a look at the art process from pencils to inks to colors. For $4.99, 164 pages of content is a pretty solid deal. Digital subscribers to X-Men/Fantastic Four will automatically be upgraded to the director’s cut, as will anyone who purchases X-Men/FF #1 before February 19th. Digital director’s cuts used to also go to users who redeemed codes from their physical comic purchases, but that no longer appears to be the case for some reason.
X-Men/Fantastic Four #1 is the latest Marvel title to get the digital director’s cut treatment. Previous noteworthy titles to receive the digital goodies are Strikeforce #1, Absolute Carnage #1, and House of X #1.
