With less than a month until the release of Season 1 of Shadow and Bone, Netflix drops their official trailer for a closer look at their take on the Grishaverse! Although the trailer leaked to IMDB yesterday evening, fans are still clamoring for a look at more of what the series has to offer.

Check out the new trailer below:

And damn, is that a good trailer! Because of the leak, a bunch of the fans have been inevitably breaking down the trailer with screenshots and theories about what will happen this season over on Twitter. Notably, the trailer shows off more of the Shadow Fold, the mysterious and ominous wall that splits the country of Ravka in half. There is also more footage of the Crows, with more pointing to what brings Kaz, Inej, and Jesper out from Ketterdam and over to Ravka. Finally, showing off more of their fantastic special effects we have lingering shots of Alina’s Sun Summoner power on display.

This trailer release also coincides with creator Leigh Bardugo’s release of the final book of the Grishaverse: Rule of Wolves, which is out today! It’s marked as the second book in the Nikolai Lantsov duology and the seventh in the main series of Grishaverse novels. Book readers know how important Nikolai is in the later books of the series, but it seems we’re unlikely to spot him in this first season of Shadow and Bone, though we’re keeping our fingers crossed!

On top of the trailer, Netflix has also released new images for the series, showcasing the Crows crew, Grisha, and Alina throughout her journey.

There are dangerous forces at play, including a crew of charismatic criminals, and it will take more than magic to survive.
