COVID-19 ain’t done with us yet! Thanks to pandemic-related delays, Vault Comics’ Radio Apocalypse #1 won’t be releasing next month as initially announced earlier this year. Instead, the new title will hit stores in October.

Referred to as “a mix-tape for the end-times, a story of the resilience & joy of music, love & the human spirit, ” the post-apocalyptic tale is written by Ram V (Blue In Green, These Savage Shores) and drawn by artist Anand RK (Blue In Green, Grafity’s Wall). Letterer Aditya Bidikar (The Department of Truth, Giga) and designer Tim Daniel complete the creative team. The full synopsis can be read below:

Long after the rock out of space struck the world and turned it all to dust, in Bakerstown stands the last Radio Station on the planet. Radio Apocalypse broadcasting into the unknown, a beacon in the dark for those who wander the lost places. Now change is coming to Bakerstown. Among the refugees flocking into an already precarious settlement, an orphan boy Rion, caught in an indiscretion, will twine his fate with the Radio Station. And in doing so, begin this mixtape of love and heartbreak and interminable hope. This soundtrack to the end of the world.

“Anyone who has read Ram and Anand’s other work knows just how exceptional their creative efforts truly are,” said Vault Co-Founder and Editor-in-Chief, Adrian Wassel. “COVID has thrown a wrench into every aspect of our lives, and yet somehow we’ve all learned to keep moving forward. Still, the last thing we want to do is rush what will be a singular and masterful series, and so we’ve decided to hold the Radio Apocalypse release just a bit longer. I promise, it’s worth it.”
