Back in 2021, James Harren and Dave Stewart debuted Ultramega, a comic series published by Image and Skybound entertainment about a trio of warrior heroes tasked with defending the Earth from formerly-human kaiju. It’s been three years since the last issue was released. As the saying goes, good things come to those who wait, and the series is set to return with issue #5 on on September 18, 2024.
Today Skybound and Image Comics announced the variant cover program and unveiled covers for issue #5 and #6 ahead of the upcoming return of the Eisner Award nominated series Ultramega.
Each supersized issue will feature a main cover by Harren & Stewart, an open to order variant cover by a rotating top-tier guest artist, a 1:10 incentive black and white variant cover by that guest artist, and a 1:25 incentive black and white variant cover by Harren. Ultramega #5 will also feature a blank sketch cover.
Comics legend Mike Mignola (Hellboy) will serve as the guest artist for issue #5, Eisner Award nominated artist Matías Bergara (Coda) will come aboard for covers on issue #6, Eisner Award winning artist Gabriel Hernandez Walta (Phantom Road, Vision) will draw covers for issue #7, and Lewis LaRosa (Megalith) will step in for issue #8.
