Dark Horse Comics has announced that House of Penance, the 2016 horror miniseries by Peter J. Tomasi and Ian Bertram, is the latest title to receive a deluxe Library Edition hardcover. The six-issue miniseries tells a fictionalized tale of real-life 19th century heiress Sarah Winchester and the construction of what is today known as the Winchester Mystery House.
Here’s how Dark Horse describes the series:
House of Penance is a horrific tale of how fortune brings misfortune, as a grim and determined woman oversees the construction of a house twenty-four hours a day for twenty years mission to wash away the blood curse of her husband’s invention, the Winchester rifle, from claiming her own life and soul.
In addition to the six issues of the House of Penance miniseries, the deluxe Library Edition hardcover will include sketchbook material from the development of the series, as well as a new cover by Bertram, which you can see below.
Look for House of Penance Library Edition HC in stores at the end of March 2019.
