After announcing the casting of Barbara Gordon last week, it appears yet another beloved perennial member of the Bat Family with actor will be featured in Titans Season 3. After much speculation, it was officially confirmed via the Titans social media that actor Jay Lycurgo will playing Tim Drake in Season 3 of Titans.

While the second Robin, Jason Todd, was maligned by the readers only to be killed off (and eventually resurrected), the introduction of Tim Drake as the third Robin was actually accepted by the fans. In fact, Drake’s popularity eventually resulted in the first ongoing Robin series for the character.

Viewers will recall that the OG Robin Dick Grayson (played by Brenton Thwaites) abandoned the Robin identity at the end of Season 1 only to adopt the new persona of Nightwing like in the comics. With Jason Todd (played by Curran Walters) set to ditch the Robin costume in favor of the Red Hood moniker, it’s a safe bet we can expect Lycurgo as Tim Drake to fill in those Robin booties by the end of the third season.

Incidentally, this isn’t Lycurgo’s first tour of duty in the the DC Universe. If you saw The Batman trailer during DC FanDome (and honestly who didn’t) you may recognize Lycurgo as the “crying thug” near the end of the trailer.

Titans was renewed for a third season at DC Universe in Nov. 2019. However, it was announced in September 2020 that DC Universe was moving out of original scripted series, with its remaining scripted originals all shifting over to HBO Max.

Titans was the first scripted to series to launch on DC Universe, with the first season debuting in October 2018. The series was developed by Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns, Greg Berlanti, based on characters from DC. All three serve as executive producers along with Greg Walker and Sarah Schechter. The series is produced by Goldsman’s Weed Road Pictures and Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
