Three Jokers, a new three issue miniseries from writer Geoff Johns and Jason Fabok, will hit comic shops on June 17 after being tease for years, DC Comics announced Monday.

The idea of a story involving three Jokers has been around since the very end of DC Comics’ New 52 publishing initiative in spring of 2016, when it was mentioned during the Darkseid War story that capped the New 52 Justice League title, an event that was also written by Johns and illustrated by Fabok. The idea was (I  believe) also touched on in the 80-page one-shot DC Rebirth that kicked off that era. Anyway, here we are about four years later getting answers.

And those answers will come in the form of a three-issue miniseries published as part of DC’s prestige Black Label imprint, which likely puts them outside of regular Batman continuity (for the folks out there who are interested in such things). Each of the three issues of the book will be 48 pages and prestige format. Joining Johns and Fabok on the project will be colorist Brad Anderson.

You can read the entire Three Jokers press release below and also check out some of the first interior artwork, but this seems to be the most telling bit…
