Next month AfterShock Comics will release The Heathens #3. The third issue of the supernatural series is written by Cullen Bunn & Heath Amodio, with art by Sami Kivelä, colors by Jason Wordie, and letters by Simon Bowland. Today The Beat can present an exclusive preview of the issue, which finds the team of outlaws from Hell at a crossroads in their mission.

Here’s how AfterShock describes The Heathens #3:

The Heathens threaten to return to their villainous ways, destroying any chance to kill the Ripper and force him back to hell in the process.

In a statement back when The Heathens was announced, co-writer Cullen Bunn described his inspirations for the series:

“Anyone who is familiar with me as a creator knows I love historical figures and time periods. They also know I love infusing stories featuring those characters and time periods with a healthy dose of the supernatural. Heath brought the seed of this idea to me, and I loved it from the jump. It has history, villains, even worse villains, supernatural worlds, and redemption—everything that I could hope for in a book!”

Co-writer Heath Amodio also described his experience working on the book, and praised artists Sami Kivelä and Jason Wordie in bringing the series to life:

“Everyone at AfterShock has been very supportive from day one. The team’s excitement about this project has been palpable, which really helped to drive the writing. Sami made some great calls with the art, experimenting with the panels and layouts really added to the storytelling. He and Jason did an amazing job bringing our vision to life.”
