The idea that there’s another Toy Story film is still pretty surreal to me, especially after the Best Picture nominated third entry so perfectly tied a bow around Woody, Buzz and the rest of the gang.
But, in recent years, Pixar has really dug deep into the sequel well – following up The Incredibles, Monsters Inc., etc, so I guess it shouldn’t be that surprising that they’re taking one more spin at the franchise that put the studio on the map all those years ago…god, I was in middle school then.
Today sees the release of the first trailer, take a gander:

Well, not a wholly inspiring start, though the scary Charlie McCarthy looking marionettes seem fun, and Tony Hale as the new character Forky has some pretty strong appeal. We’ll see how it goes, this is a property that has a tremendous hit rate, and Andrew Stanton (the brains behind Wall-E) co-wrote this screenplay, thus giving me some real hope.
What do you think though? Toy Story 4 is in theaters on June 21st.

  1. I’m intrigued at least. They haven’t made a bad movie in this franchise and I even liked the Buzz Lightyear cartoon series.
