MGM has just dropped the first teaser for the new animated incarnation of The Addams Family, probably the closest we’ll ever get to the internet’s dream of Oscar Isaac playing Gomez Addams.
Give it a look-see below, and if it sends ya, you’ll be able to see it on Halloween (very apropos). The Addams Family stars Isaac, Charlize Theron, Chloë Grace Moretz, Finn Wolfhard, Nick Kroll with Bette Midler and Allison Janney
Though my pal Ben Towle asks the key question that this trailer inspires: when are we getting high-end versions of the original Charles Addams comics anyway?
Edit: Correction! It comes out on October 11th. Hey! Even sooner!

  1. I don’t care about this endless rehashing of old “IP” (as fans insist on calling it), except to hope the creators’ families or estates are well paid.

  2. Well I thought it looked good. In the paperback book of the Adams Family (a collection of short stories) it started with them moving into the mansion, looks like they are doing that here. I think the main problem of the many version of the Adams is that they don’t leave them in the time period they originated in. It was a lot easier to be weird in the America of the late 1950’s early 1960’s than it was in the later decades where the newer shows were set.
