Dave McKean is a multimedia and multidisciplinary artist based in the UK who first burst onto the comics scene alongside Neil Gaiman with 1987’s Violent Cases. Across his career McKean has utilised various methods to produce art – of which illustration is just one aspect. His most recent work includes the graphic novel Raptor (2021); illustrations for SF Said’s children’s book Tyger (2022); and Prompt, a 2022 published book-length visual discourse on the controversial subject of machine-generated (often called AI) art.
