Stars Wars: The Rise of Skywalker trailer offers one last look at our friends and sets ticket sales record

The Stars Wars: The Rise of Skywalker trailer is here. During halftime of a legendarily horrid loss by the Jets on Monday Night Football, the final trailer for the final film in the final trilogy of Star Wars debuted.

And the Stars Wars: The Rise of Skywalker trailer was PACKED.

I mean, IT HAD EVERYTHING. Heroic Rey. Rose Tico. Stormy wet Kylo. Finn looking brave. Smoldering Poe. Lando in the Falcon. The team racing across the screen riding orbaks. Rey and Kylo teaming up in the throne room again. Voiceovers from everyone. The Force. A NEW FINAL TRIUMPHANT VERSION OF THE STAR WARS THEME.

Everyone was crying. And not just because the Jets got shut out.

Twitter bursted. And so did ticket sales. TRoS has already sold 45% more tickets in its first hour than Avengers: Endgame did!

Tickets for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker have now been available for a matter of hours and the film has already broken one major record. According to a new report, the last film in the Skywalker saga has already sold more tickets in its first hour than Avengers: Endgame did in the same timeframe. In a new report from the Observer, The Rise of Skywalker ended up selling a whopping 45 percent more tickets in the first hour on Atom Tickets than Marvel Studios’ massive April blockbuster.

Indeed if you’re hoping to see this on opening Thursday….good luck!

It’s hard to say what hit people the hardest on Twitter, as it was mostly all of it. But Kylo’s gloom and the final “The Force Will Be with you” from Luke Skywalker and “Always” from Leia Rey were big hits. But it was probably C-3P0’s on the nose fan service observation that did it the most:
