This week, we center on Yasmeen from Scout Comics. The critically acclaimed miniseries has been collected in trade form, offering readers all six issues in one convenient place.
Created and written by Saif A. Ahmed, the compelling narrative is drawn by Fabiana Mascolo and lettered by Robin Jones.

“Split between two times in her life, Yasmeen tells the story of an Iraqi girl who survives slavery in the ISIS terrorist regime in Mosul. After surviving long two years of slavery, she is freed but has become a different person. Told through flashbacks, readers get a front seat at the horrors the young girl endured as an ISIS captive before receiving freedom and a chance at a new life in North America. As liberating and positive as that might be, there are still struggles and obstacles to overcome every step of the way. As you navigate the tale, you feel what Yasmeen feels, and Ahmed’s words and Mascolo’s art provide a realistic, gripping glimpse at a frightening, overwhelming world as well as the strength of the young girl at the center.
