Who likes true crime? How about a little supernatural with your true crime? This week in the Small Press Spotlight, we take a look at Scout Comics’ upcoming Trim Season. Last month, The Hollywood Reporter shared in an exclusive that Execution Posse Holdings, known for the limited comic series Night of the Cadillacs and Hot Valley Days and Cocaine Nights has partnered with Mejane Productions to release the limited edition series with the publisher in 2022.

This original concept by Megan Sutherland, Sean E. DeMott, and Cullen Poythress is loosely based on true stories of girls going missing during the yearly marijuana trim season in Humboldt County, California. It features a story by writer Jake Hearns, based on a screenplay by David Blair and Ariel Vida about a group of young people from Los Angeles working on a remote marijuana farm who encounter “unspeakable horrors, a sinister family, and human sacrifice.”

The cover is by Rob Prior and pencils and inks are by Mara Mendez Garcia. Lorenzo Palombo is on colors for the series. Take a look at the cover art below and check out Scout Comics’ site for updates.
